What happened
Between August 20 and August 24, 2026, NHTSA opened four separate investigations covering: heat exchanger damage caused by road debris and rocks; loss of motive power from engine failure after recall repairs; electronic brake module component failure; and intermittent loss of braking in the 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid.
