Between March and July 2026, NHTSA opened separate investigations into truck-related defects, including a Lower Lateral Link detachment issue (opened July 29, 2026), a Timing Belt Failure issue (opened July 31, 2026), a Fuel smell and loss of motive power issue (opened March 30, 2026), an ABS Malfunction Indicator Lamp issue (opened April 9, 2026), and a Front Steering Knuckle Fractures issue (opened April 24, 2026).     NHTSA Opens Multiple Investigations Into Drivetrain, Engine, and Brake Failures

    The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened a new investigation on September 14, 2026, into a driveshaft-to-rear-differential connection failure. In the weeks prior, NHTSA also opened separate investigations into a timing belt failure (July 31), engine failure after a recall remedy leading to loss of motive power (August 20), a second loss-of-motive-power issue (September 3), and an electronic brake module component failure (August 21).
