NHTSA Opens Several Investigations Into Truck Component Failures

What happened
Between March and July 2026, NHTSA opened separate investigations into a lower lateral link detachment issue, front steering knuckle fractures, fuel smell paired with loss of motive power, a rear toe link separation concern, timing belt failure, and carry handle separation. Each investigation remains open, and no findings, recalls, or rulings have been announced.
