What is the deadline in Colorado?
Colorado has a 2-year statute of limitations for personal injury and product liability claims (C.R.S. § 13-80-102). For minor victims, C.R.S. § 13-80-106(2) extends the product-claim deadline only for a child with no spouse or natural or legal guardian, who may file within 2 years after turning 18 (age 20); for a child with a parent or guardian, the normal 2-year period applies. Colorado has no general product liability statute of repose: ten years after a product is first sold, it is rebuttably presumed not defective (C.R.S. § 13-21-403(3)), and the 7-year repose in C.R.S. § 13-80-107 applies only to new manufacturing equipment.
