What is the deadline in Kentucky?

For truck and other motor vehicle accidents, Kentucky's limitation period is 2 years after the injury or death, or after the last PIP (basic or added reparation) payment, whichever is later (KRS 304.39-230(6)). Damages are reduced by the plaintiff's percentage of fault (KRS 411.182). Negligence claims against the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and other state agencies go to the Board of Claims and must be filed within 1 year of accrual (KRS 49.040 to 49.180; KRS 49.120, formerly KRS 44.110); claims against local governments follow separate rules.
