Where to File in Nevada

Nevada enacted legislation in 2021 that permanently eliminated the civil statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse claims. This means Nevada survivors of Catholic clergy abuse can file civil lawsuits at any time, regardless of when the abuse occurred and regardless of the survivor's current age. There is no filing deadline. The Diocese of Las Vegas and Diocese of Reno have both published credibly accused clergy lists. No Nevada diocese has filed for bankruptcy as of February 2026. Nevada survivors who have been told their claims are too old should know that, as of 2021, there is no time bar for childhood sexual abuse civil claims in Nevada.
