How filing deadlines work

This tool organizes the information to bring to a deadline review. It does not add a fixed number of years to your diagnosis date. Discovery rules, tolling, claim types and exceptions require a lawyer to review your facts.

Does the year I enter determine my filing date?
No. A diagnosis or injury year alone cannot establish your deadline. The claim type, applicable law, discovery date and any exceptions must be reviewed.
What dates should I bring to a deadline review?
Bring the dates of the incident or exposure, diagnosis and when you learned of a possible cause. Include any earlier filings or agreements.
What if one deadline may have passed?
Ask a lawyer to review it. Other claims, exceptions or remedies may still apply; this tool does not tell you that you have no case.
