What happened
Between March and July 2026, NHTSA opened a series of new investigations covering topics such as automated driving systems (ADS), Full Self-Driving (FSD) collisions in low-visibility conditions, anti-lock brake warning lights, fuel smell with loss of power, steering knuckle fractures, and rear toe link separation. No agency conclusions, recalls, or rulings have been reported yet.
