What happened
Between March and July 2026, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened a series of separate investigations covering issues such as fuel smell and power loss, ABS warning lights, steering knuckle fractures, automated driving system behavior, rear toe link separation, rental of vehicles with open recalls, carry handle separation, inadvertent airbag deployment, lower lateral link detachment, and timing belt failure.
