Statute of Limitations
Alaska Stat. § 09.10.070 sets a 2-year personal injury limitations period. Alaska courts apply the discovery rule, tolling the statute until the plaintiff discovers or reasonably should discover the injury and its mesh-related cause. No statute of repose applies to product liability claims. Given Alaska's small population, surgeries are concentrated in Anchorage and Fairbanks, and nearly all mesh cases funnel into the federal MDL in Columbus, Ohio.
