Bring the article, letter or court order that led you to think time ran out. Ask which rule it discussed and whether that rule fits the claim you mean. Do not wait for a group settlement forecast to seek that check.
A law reopening claims can have narrow terms and exceptions. The Utah text treats types of people sued differently. It does not prove every old Church claim can reopen.
Ask a lawyer to check the law’s current text and court decisions about its effect. A historical statute alone is not a personal filing answer. Give a lawyer any earlier dismissal or settlement agreement.
The panel refused to group the listed cases. Its order did not set a personal filing deadline. Do not use that court decision to calculate your time.
Ask for the deadline, the rule used and the next required step in writing. Tell the lawyer if a case is already pending or was dismissed. A general inquiry is not the same as filing a court claim.
Start with age, places and dates you recall. Mark uncertain dates rather than inventing precision. Ask which documents are needed to check the claim.
List prior reports, lawyer contact and any signed agreement separately. Keep the actual letters or orders you have. Ask whether more than one proposed defendant or claim needs a separate time check.
Bring the earlier advice and any court papers. Ask which law was used and whether a new check would cover different work.
Ask for the next action and date in writing. Read the work and fees before assuming the firm will file anything for you.
